Another Freebie and Random Ramblings....

Well, the past couple days have been crazy around my house because my 4 year old got sick all the sudden and then my 1 year old got sick! I took them both to the doctor's office (one day after the other) and they were both put on antibiotics! Plus, we leave for vacation this Sunday!!! Ugh!!! They HAVE to get better by then! My hubby is also not feeling too hot and he has to go no matter what! (It's actually a mission trip for his work.) Anyway, I did manage to get a Freebie together for you. Today is the papers and tomorrow will be some elements to go along with the papers. Tomorrow will be the last time I post until we get back from vacation next week.

Before I go today, I wanted to share this little story with you about what happened to me at the doctors office today. Let me start by telling you that I was taking my 1 year old, Ash, because she had been crying all morning and messing with her right ear. So I called the doc right away because I figured that she had an ear infection. So I took her right after lunch, which she didn't eat, she only had milk and juice and then we gave her some pain reliever. Well, on the way to see the doctor, she threw up all over herself, her car seat and the car!!! I was not expecting that one! I didn't have any extra clothes with me for her. When we got to the doctor's office, the receptionist was nice enough to get a blankie for me to wrap around her in the chilly waiting room. While I'm waiting in there, another Mom comes in with her, obviously, sick little boy. Then comes another Mom with her older daughter, probably 12 or 13 years old and then another Mom with her older son. The sick little boy wants a drink of water, so the Mom tells him that she will get him something to drink from the water fountain and walks out of the waiting room. So the Mom with the girl says to the Mom with the older boy, "Oh! Great! Now everyone will get sick since she is letting him drink from the water fountain! I told my daughter before we got here not to touch anything or even LOOK at anyone so that she doesn't get sick!" The lady with the older boy just nods in agreement with her. The lady with the girl goes on saying, "Well, I'm glad someone agrees with me. I hate coming here when there are sick kids around!" I'm sitting there with my poor sick little baby wrapped in a blanket the whole time just thinking, "Ummmmm, do you know that you are in a doctor's office and this IS where sick people come to get well???" I mean, seriously, how rude can you be when I am sitting right there with a sick kid? Did she want me to leave the room??? I was totally disgusted by her and I don't even know her! Does anyone else think that was rude, or was it just me having one of those days???

Anyway, here is your Freebie for today, check back tomorrow for the rest!!! Please comment if you download! Thanks!

Oh, I'm gonna play devil's advocate just a tad. I have two little girls, so I think that the lady was a bit rude. But, here's the thing. I used to have to go to the doctor's office to get allergy shots every week. Then they wanted me to sit in the tiny waiting room after the shot to see if I might have a reaction. There were more than once that the waiting room was full of very sick children and adults. I would beg the staff to let me sit in the hallway floor in the back so that I could avoid the germs. Because I did not want to get sick and I also did not want to take home anything to my girls or hubby. I realize now that I may have made some comments about how annoying it was to have all the sick people around. I shouldn't have. All my gripes stemmed from the fact that I couldn't give myself the shots, and I had to subject myself to the germs every week. So, I've been on both sides. Maybe the mom was there for something as benign as an allergy shot. She had to bring her child, and just had an intense wish to not get the germs. Although to you, with a sick baby in your arms it was horrendously rude. My other side. Thanks for the wonderful goodies. Patty

Adorable freebie - thanks!

As for the doctor.... if anyone wants to go there when there aren't sick people around.... well, then they should never go there at all! like, ok, if you're going there and you're perfectly healthy and you're worried about catching something in the waiting room, fine.... keep it to yourself, because what are the sick people supposed to do? wait outside? are you kidding me?

if i had been there, i would have bitched the lady out, and told her that if she's not sick, why is she holding up the line by being there?

good grief
